GAP Biosciences
The Innovation Hub Management Company in collaboration with Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia presents GAP-Biosciences. GAP-Biosciences is directed at bridging the gap between scientific discovery and the commercial markets and accelerating commercially viable biosciences ideas from laboratory to the marketplace. Scientists and researchers often lack the essential business skills and expertise to successfully establish start-up companies. GAP-Biosciences provides the opportunity for these scientists and researchers to acquire essential skills in business, legal, intellectual property rights, intellectual property management and other fields from subject matter experts in this year-long programme. The programme further seeks to accelerate the commercialisation of technologies with the aim of contributing to increasing the economic growth of Gauteng using Biosciences as a vehicle.
A two-day GAP-Biosciences Business Basics Workshop will take place on 15
-16 March 2012. Online applications for this free workshop are open
until 22 February 2012 and only a limited number of participants will be
accommodated. During the workshop, participants will be introduced to
the basics of business and case studies on opportunities in Biosciences
presented by international and local experts. Applications for the
